KENT Gold 20 Litre Gravity Based UF Water Purifier

The KENT Gold is a gravity-based water purifier that works without electricity. You pour water into the top tank, gravity does the rest, and purified water collects in the lower tank ready to draw from the tap. There is no wiring, no installation and no plumbing — it sits on any flat kitchen counter. Purification is by a hollow fibre ultrafiltration membrane with a pore size of 0.1 micron. Bacteria and cysts are physically too large to pass through it, which is why KENT describes the output as purer than boiled water. No chlorine, bromine or iodine is added, so nothing changes the taste of the water. Before the membrane, the water passes through a nano-silver carbon filter that handles disinfection and removes odours, along with sediment filtration for visible dust and particles. The membrane is rated for about 4000 litres, which for a normal family works out to roughly a year before the spare kit needs changing. Both tanks are transparent unbreakable ABS food-grade plastic, so you can see the water level and know when to refill. The high base stand leaves room to place a glass under the tap without tilting it. Because it runs on gravity, it keeps working during a power cut, which makes it useful for homes with an irregular supply, and for shops, offices and schools. Important: this is an ultrafiltration purifier, not an RO. It is meant for low-TDS water — municipal tap supply. For borewell or tanker water with high TDS, an RO model is the correct choice.
