The Crompton Solarium Care DLX is a 15-litre vertical storage water heater for family bathrooms. 15 litres gives a family of 3–4 enough hot water for back-to-back baths on a winter morning. The inner tank has a superior glassline coating. Glassline protects the tank from the minerals in hard borewell water, which is what makes ordinary tanks rust and leak after a few winters. Crompton backs this tank with a 10-year warranty, so it is built to last a decade of Jabalpur winters. Water is heated by a 2000W copper heating element, which heats quickly and transfers heat well. It carries a 6-year warranty, so the part that most often fails in a geyser is covered for years. A capillary thermostat with an adjustable knob lets you set the temperature, so you do not heat water more than you need. The 5-star rating means the tank holds heat well, so the geyser switches on less often to keep water hot. Hygiene Care mode heats the water to a higher temperature to reduce bacteria in the tank. This is useful when the geyser has been unused for a while or when water is stored overnight. Advance 3 Level Safety protects the geyser: a capillary thermostat controls the temperature, an automatic thermal cut-out switches off the heater if it overheats, and a multi-function valve releases excess pressure. The tank is rated for 8 bar, so it can handle overhead tanks, high-rise buildings and pressure pumps. The outer body is rust-proof plastic, so it does not corrode in a humid bathroom.
