Ceiling Fans
Ceiling Fan kaise chunein — BLDC vs normal, size, aur bijli ka poora hisaab

1200mm ya 1400mm? BLDC ya normal? Remote wala ya regulator? Jabalpur ke gharon ke hisaab se poora hisaab, aur bijli kitni bachegi uska seedha jawab.
Pankha khareedte waqt zyadatar log do hi cheez dekhte hain — daam aur dikhawat. Aur wahin galti ho jaati hai.
Pankha ghar ki wo cheez hai jo saal mein aath mahine, roz das-baarah ghante chalti hai. Uska asli daam wo nahi jo aap counter par dete hain — asli daam wo bijli hai jo wo agle das saal tak pi jaata hai.
Sabse pehla faisla — BLDC ya normal
Ye ek hi faisla aapke das saal ka kharcha tay kar deta hai.
Aam pankha 75 watt ke aaspaas leta hai. BLDC pankha 32 se 35 watt mein utni hi hawa deta hai. Hawa dono barabar dete hain — 1200mm ka pankha 1200mm ka hi hai, chahe motor kuch bhi ho.
Bachat ka seedha hisaab
| Aam pankha | BLDC | |
|---|---|---|
| Bijli | 70-80 watt | 32-35 watt |
| Awaaz | Zyada | 58 dB se kam |
| Kam voltage par | Speed gir jaati hai | Poori speed |
| Inverter par | Backup jaldi khatam | Dogna chalta hai |
| Daam | Kam | Zyada |
Teen pankhe, roz 12 ghante, bijli ₹8 prati unit:
- Aam pankhe: lagbhag ₹7,900 saal ka
- BLDC: lagbhag ₹3,400 saal ka
- Farak: ₹4,500 har saal
Pankhon ka antar teen-chaar saal mein nikal aata hai. Uske baad har saal ki bachat seedhi jeb mein.
Hisaab apne numbers se lagana ho to hamare BLDC fan page par
calculator hai — apne pankhon ki ginti aur ghante daal kar dekh lijiye.
Kitne inch ka pankha lein
Ye galti bahut hoti hai — log sochte hain bada pankha zyada hawa dega. Bada pankha chhote kamre mein hawa kam karta hai, zyada nahi, kyunki hawa deewar se takra kar ghoom jaati hai.
| Kamre ka naap | Pankha |
|---|---|
| 8x8 feet tak | 900 mm |
| 10x10 feet | 1200 mm |
| 12x12 feet | 1200 ya 1250 mm |
| 14x14 se bada | 1400 mm |
| Hall / do pankhe | 1200 mm ke do |
Chhat unchi ho (10 feet se zyada) to down rod lamba lijiye, warna hawa neeche tak nahi aati.
Remote wala ya regulator wala
Zyadatar BLDC pankhe remote se chalte hain, kyunki unka motor alag tarah ka hota hai.
Remote ka faayda — bistar se speed badal sakte hain, timer laga sakte hain, aur kuch models mobile app ya Alexa se bhi chalte hain.
Remote ka jhanjhat — kho jaata hai, cell khatam ho jaata hai, aur buzurgon ko button yaad rakhna padta hai.
Ghar mein buzurg hain to regulator se chalne wala BLDC lijiye. Aisa
model deewar ke purane switch se hi chalta hai — kuch naya seekhna nahi padta. Hum aise gharon mein yahi dete hain.
Star rating ka matlab
BEE star rating pankhe par 2023 se lagi hai. 5 star ka matlab kam bijli.
Par ek baat samajh lijiye — 5 star aam pankha bhi BLDC se zyada bijli hi leta hai. Star rating usi shreni ke andar tulna karti hai. BLDC apne aap mein alag shreni hai.
Kya-kya dekhna chahiye
- Hawa (CMM) — 210 se upar theek hai, 230+ achha
- Awaaz (dB) — 58 se kam ho to raat mein pareshan nahi karta
- Voltage range — 165-285V wale Jabalpur ke liye behtar hain
- Warranty — motor par 2+1 saal aam hai, kam mein mat lijiye
- Blade ka material — aluminium halka aur tikau, plastic sasta
Lagwane se pehle
- Purana pankha utarna — hum khud utaar kar le jaate hain
- Wiring — BLDC ko purane regulator se mat chalaiye, wo kaam nahi karega
- Balance — naya pankha jhoole to blade ka balance dekhna padta hai
Aakhir mein
Agar mahine ka bijli bill zyada aata hai aur ghar mein teen-chaar pankhe roz chalte hain — BLDC hi lijiye. Daam zyada lagega, par teen saal mein nikal aata hai.
Ek hi pankha hai aur kabhi-kabhi chalta hai, to aam pankha bhi theek hai.
Dukaan par aaiye, dono chalu karke dekh lijiye — hawa aur awaaz dono mehsoos ho jayegi. Kamre ka naap bata dijiye, size hum bata denge.
Most people buy a ceiling fan on two things — price and looks. That is exactly where the mistake happens.
A ceiling fan runs eight months a year, ten to twelve hours a day. What you pay at the counter is not its real cost. The real cost is the electricity it will consume over the next ten years.
The first decision — BLDC or conventional
This single choice decides your ten-year running cost.
A conventional ceiling fan draws around 75 watts. A BLDC fan delivers the same air at 32 to 35 watts. Air delivery is identical — a 1200mm fan is a 1200mm fan regardless of the motor inside it.
The saving, in plain numbers
| Conventional | BLDC | |
|---|---|---|
| Power | 70-80 W | 32-35 W |
| Noise | Higher | Under 58 dB |
| Low voltage | Speed drops | Holds speed |
| On inverter | Drains backup | Runs twice as long |
| Price | Lower | Higher |
Three fans, twelve hours a day, electricity at Rs 8 per unit:
- Conventional: about Rs 7,900 a year
- BLDC: about Rs 3,400 a year
- Difference: Rs 4,500 every year
The price gap pays for itself in three to four years. After that, the saving is money in your pocket.
To work it out with your own numbers, our BLDC fan page has
a calculator — enter how many fans you run and for how long.
What size fan do you need
This is a common mistake — people assume a bigger fan moves more air. In a small room a larger fan actually moves less air, because the airflow bounces off the walls and swirls.
| Room size | Fan sweep |
|---|---|
| Up to 8x8 feet | 900 mm |
| 10x10 feet | 1200 mm |
| 12x12 feet | 1200 or 1250 mm |
| Larger than 14x14 | 1400 mm |
| Hall | Two 1200 mm fans |
If your ceiling is above ten feet, use a longer down rod, otherwise the air never reaches you.
Remote or regulator
Most BLDC fans run on a remote, because the motor type requires it.
The advantage — change speed from your bed, set a timer, and on some models control it through a phone app or Alexa.
The nuisance — remotes get lost, batteries die, and older family members have to remember which button does what.
If there are elderly people at home, choose a regulator-operated BLDC
model. It runs off the existing wall switch, so nobody has to learn anything new. That is what we recommend for such homes.
What the star rating means
BEE star ratings have been on ceiling fans since 2023. Five stars means lower consumption.
But understand one thing — a 5 star conventional fan still consumes far more than a BLDC. Star ratings compare within a category. BLDC is a category of its own.
What to check before buying
- Air delivery (CMM) — above 210 is fine, 230+ is good
- Noise (dB) — under 58 dB will not disturb you at night
- Voltage range — 165-285V models suit Jabalpur better
- Warranty — 2+1 years on the motor is standard, do not settle for less
- Blade material — aluminium is light and durable, plastic is cheaper
Before installation
- Removing the old fan — we take it down and carry it away
- Wiring — do not run a BLDC through an old regulator, it will not work
- Balancing — if a new fan wobbles, the blade balance needs correcting
In short
If your electricity bill is high and three or four fans run daily in your home, choose BLDC. It costs more upfront and pays that back within three years.
If it is a single fan that runs occasionally, a conventional fan is fine.
Come to the shop and run both. You will feel the difference in airflow and hear the difference in noise. Tell us your room size and we will tell you the sweep.
